Puttin' up

On March 10th Jessica and I quit fretting over the decision to thru-hike the AT this year. We've been talking about the possibility of taking on this adventure for several months and the time came for us to put or shut up. We put up....for many reasons but primarily because we firmly believe in spirit of the following quote by Mark Twain, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

We're starting on the Appalachian Trail the morning of April 7th and hope to finish sometime in Sept/Oct. For those that don't know the AT is a 2,100+ mile trail starting in north GA and ending in Maine.

We hope to capture the highlights of our journey, update our progress and post some pics/videos on this blog at least weekly, hopefully more often but most likely less.

Thank you for everyone who's helping us with this journey, those who offered to help and those who gave us well wishes.

The next time you hear from on us on here, we'll have logged a few miles on the trail and maybe even have our new trail names.

J&M
